Archirondel Tower
When I was growing up, Archirondel Tower and it's tranquil beach were a whole other world away being ‘out east’ and therefore almost worthy of packing a passport and an overnight bag. Living on an island only 9 by 5 miles you can see how scale and perspective take on a whole new meaning. One of Jersey's many beautiful beaches, Archirondel is a mixture of sand and pebbles and at high tide you can while away an afternoon fine honing your skimming skills. It's historic coastal tower is one of many on the island and dates back to 1792 which is even older than La Rocco Tower, the subject of another Rachey Bean Scene! The striking red and white stripes on it's exterior are in fact modern shipping markers but I rather like the cheery colours!
